Method is described of imparting to polymer surfaces improved bond strength with respect to galvanic coatings consists of ozone-treating a polymer which contains unsatd. cpds. Pref. a polymer mixture or a mixture of a polymer with a low-molecular component is used. Used for the preparation of polymer surfaces for subsequent metallisation in the production of a composite in which the substrate is a dielectric and the applied metal coating has high electrical conductivity. A typical application is the production of printed circuits. The method enables the problems associated with pickling in strong acid to be eliminated.
