The burner includes an air inlet pipe (3) located concentrically round a fuel inlet pipe (14), which ends in a top, internal screw thread in which a vertical and replaceable nozzle (10) is fitted. On the top end of pipe (3) is a mixing head (9) forming a ring outlet for the mixt. of fuel and air. Above head (9) is a lance head employed to obtain a horizontal or inclined ring outlet for the fuel-air mixt. Provides intensive mixing of air, esp. with a liq. fuel, to obtain a burner output of 15-80 x 106 kJ/m3 of the fluidised bed.
