In the mfr. of a combined woven and knitted fabric, with warps and double wefts forming woven zones joined by knitted wales, the knitted sections (B) near the woven zones (A) are formed of a number of adjacent knitted wales (3). These wales (3) are locked or interlocked together. The fabric structure allows the use of a needle knitter, giving a wide pattern variety.
