The combine harvester is of self-propelled type and does not use vibrations. It has a threshing drum with a cage, together with a number of separating drums parallel to this drum, each with its separating member blow. The shafts of all drums are mounted in the machine side walls. The shafts (10) of the threshing and separating (13) drums are each mounted at one or both ends in a cover (5,6) over an assembly aperture (3,4) in the sidewalls (1,2). The diameter of each aperture is greater than the max. diameter of the respective drum. These apertures closed by covers containing bearings, can be formed alternately in opposite side walls.
