Electrophotographic recording material has a binder (I) matrix suitable for charge carrier transport, contg. fine particles of crystals (II) of the Bi sillenite gp. corresp. to the formula Bil2RO2O (in which R is Si, Ge or Ti). Pref. (I) has an electron and/or positive hole mobility of 10 power minus 5 to 10 power minus 10 V/square cm.s under a 10 power 5 V/cm electric field. (II) have a particle size of 40-150 micron and pref.consist of Bil2GeO2O (IIA) The (II)/(I) wt. ratio is 1000/1 to 1/10, the amt. of (II) in the recording layer being 0.1-1000 mgsquare mm. In use, the material is exposed to X-rays and developed with a toner. The material has excellent electrophotographic photoconductor properties esp. to X-rays.
