Enzyme-stabiliser mixt. contains cane sugar and bovine- or human serum albumin. The stabiliser mixt. is pref. used as an aq. soln. in which sugar:albumin wt. ratio is 1:0.4 to 1:2.5 (1:1 to 1:2.5) esp. 1:1 to 1:2, at a cane sugar content of 0.5-10 (1-10) esp. 2.5-10% (wt./vol.). An opt. freeze-dried aq. enzyme-contg. compsn. stabilised with the sugar- and albumin-contg. mixt. is claimed. Enzyme-contg. compsns. are used (i) in clinical analysis, (ii) as standard enzyme compsns. and (iii) as catalyst. Enzyme compsn. inactivation after freeze-drying and storage is reduced.
