ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURENovel membrane filter units are disclosed which areadapted for stacking and bonding into integral, disposablecartridges, optionally including an integral disposablehousing. The units comprise a thin plastic supporthaving flat membranes permanently bonded to their upper andlower surfaces. The support has a central opening, a sealingrim, and on each surface, inner and outer circumferential landsand intervening ribs or similar projections, the membranesbeing bonded and sealed to the lands and ribs. Each supportsurface adjacent the central opening has circumferentialcoupling and spacing means for bonding stacked units togetherin spaced relation. A novel method for bonding a membrane toa support is also disclosed.-1-
