The 'V' plan blade (1) is mounted on tractors (4) for clearing woodland after felling and burning operations and prior to cultivation. Its apex (7) leads on the front of a tractor. A vertical mono-blade extension (8, 10) of this apex has a step-sloped (9. 11, 12) cutting edge provided to promote the deflection and cutting of branches as the machine clears avenues. The blade extension (8, 10) is a metal plate aligning in a vertical plane on the machine's longitudinal axis, is haunch welded to the 'V' blade, and is in two sections: a primary and aft piece (8) with a cutting edge (9) inclining at 70 deg. to the horizontal ie. base leading, and a secondary piece (10) which further extends the bottom third of the primary piece. The bottom half (12) of the cutting edge of the secondary piece (10) aligns parallel to that (9) of the primary piece (8), and the upper half (13) at 46 deg. to the horizontal.
