Manhole cover for roadway - has holes adjacent hypotenuses of triangular sections positioned to allow simultaneous engagement by single lifting tool

The roadway manhole cover has a frame for grouting into the roadway and accommodating a hatch in two triangular sections fitting together along their hypotenuses. Holes are provided in the sections of the hatch for manipulating tools, these holes having walls inclined and overhanging their lower portion. The holes (9a, 9b, 10a, 10b) in the two sections are so positioned as to allow a single tool (18) to engage in them all simultaneously. Each section can have two holes formed near the hypotenuse ends, and all at the same distance from the hypotenuse itself. The holes in one section can be offset in relation to those in the other along a line parallel to the hypotenuse, to match the position of the claws on the tool.
