Sterilised thermoplastic film pack - in which sterilised webs carry sterile main film through heating moulding filling and sealing points

Articles are packed in sterile conditions by hot-forming containers in a film web, filling them inside a sterile chamber which is under slight overpressure and whose base is at least partly formed by the film itself, and finally sealing the filled containers with a cover film which has a sterile side towards the container. A first film used has at least one covering film, the combined two layers have sterile surfaces adjacent and are bonded together at least at the edges, the composite enters the sterile chamber where the cover film is removed, and previously covered side of the main film forms the inside surface of the containers, and the final cover is bonded (at least at the edges) lastly to the main film with its filled containers. Process eliminates need for high temps.; thus deviating risk of excessive softening of the film whilst also avoiding long sterilisation times.
