The coaxial line, (1) for telecommunications, has a sealed tubular elastic sheat held under pressure internaly by a fluid. The sheath is enclosed by a series of rigid cylindrical sections and links together the ends of two outer flexible tubes. The sheath is prevented from expanding longitudinally as a result of fluid pressure. The cylindrical sections ensure that when not under pressure the sheath has an external diameter less than that of the tubes and when the fluid is admitted the sections move and exert a force on the inside faces of the tubes.
