Window or door has wings mounted in two or more planes, seated on running-rails and led by guide-rails, one at least being able to slide along horizontally. At the centre joint the outside wing is fitted with a covering hood for the guide-rails on its end. The upright frame profile piece (1') of this outside wing incorporates a compartment (8) sealing the profile cross-section in the lower profile area, at the centre joint. A water runoff opening is fitted above this, open towards the end of the wing. The compartment may be in the form of a rectangular panel, sealed at the sides, and mounted above the mitre cut on the frame profile pieces, and pref. screwed (10) to the frame profile. This prevents further penetration by any water which enters through the covering hood.
