The upright is of profiled cross-section and has auxiliary devices for fitting in a standard-size window frame. It has a relatively stiff central portion, on one side of which are two parallel flanges spaced apart, enclosing between them part of a structure. The upright ends support fixing devices mounted on a part of the structure other than that between the flanges. The portion of the upright between the ends is elastic in relation to the structure part between the flanges. The top end of the upright can have an insert piece with two or more non-elastic transverse protrusions fitting in a component fitting against the ceiling.
