The conveyor has a bed employed to support a row of long, parallel driven shafts; and a row of disks is fixed on each shaft. Each disk possesses a peripheral row of notches employed to transport and rotate the rolled prods., e.g. flat bars; and the sides of each notch form a 90 degrees "V". The distance between shafts is larger than the dia. of the disks. The rotation of the shafts is synchronised with the reciprocation of a row of parallel rails, so the flat bars travel across the conveyor. The flat bars are moved in steps along the rails by being picked up in the V-notches and turned through 180 degrees on their longitudinal axis during each step. Each disk pref. contains an even number of notches, esp. more than six notches. For example, the uniform cooling and transport of profiled bars or thin walled tubes possessing a rectangular or square cross-section.
