An appts. of the cyclone type of removing products floating on a liq., partic. pollutants floating in sea, comprises a convergent for catching the liq. and charging it to a cyclone through the opening of a slot tangential to the wall of the cyclone. The appts. includes means of making wall the position of the opening of the slot dependent on the level of the liq. at the inlet of the convergent. Arrangement obviates inconveniences of existing appts. of the cyclone type partic. the fact that the slot emerges or is too much submerged when the sea is very rough.
