Prodn. of raubasine, of formula (I), from plant species of the family Apocynaceae comprises (a) extracting the plants with an alcoholic or aq. alcoholic solvent; (b) concentrating the extract; (c) subjecting the whole concentrate to complete redn.; (d) separating and purifying the resulting crude (I); and (e) isolating pure (I).
