Linked brake for articulated railway wagon - has connecting rods between axles to operate lever linking brake shoes each side of axle

The articulated railway wagon has three-axles, the braking being linked. The brake unit comprises a lever (7) fitting across the axle (10) with the slotted ends (6) which slide on pins (4, 5) on the wagon chasis (1)each side of the axle. The lever has pivoting (13, 18) arm (12, 17) at each end. Each lever is linked (14, 19) to a brake shoe (15, 20). The upper part of each arm carries a rod (11, 22) connecting the brake units. When a rod (11) is pulled, the brake shoes are applied to the axle.
