Prefabricated reinforced concrete tank - has precast wall panels with reinforcing bars projecting into vertical strip joints of in situ concrete

The concrete tank utilises standard rectangular precast reinforced concrete slabs (2) to build the reinforced wall with site joints made by strips of in situ concrete (4). The units are factory made with a grid of vertical and horizontal reinforcing bars (3). The latter projecting from each side for incorporation in the side joints. The projection equals the joint width and provides a full strength overlap. Tank construction begins with the installation of a plain concrete sub-slab (1). Precast wall units (2) are then placed on edge on the sub-slab perimeter. Completion is by the placement of site concrete to the wall joints (4) and a reinforced floor (5). The wall units provide starter bars projecting into the floor, and receive an inner face cement coating at the factory.
