Sealed plastics pipe union - has semi-cylindrical shells with groove for flange and radial internal teeth

The plastics pipe union comprises a coupling sleeve with a flange at one end and an internal stop near the other for the inserted pipe end. An O-ring is carried in an annular groove in the sleeve at the end fitting round the pipe. Two semi-cylindrical shells, whose internal radius corresponds to the external radius of the pipe, have at one end a flange with internal groove accommodating the flange on the sleeve. They also have a number of teeth protruding radially inwards and which are forced into the pipe wall when the shells are clamped together.
