Variable fluid pressure generation - is effected from cam on turbine blade assembly driven by gas jet

The hand held generator produces a variable fluid pressure with a variable frequency in order to check equipment for measuring blood pressure. The generator is operated from a constant pressure source of fluid and is readily sterilised. A conical hole (2) in a block (1) allows a catheter to be inserted to connect via a small diameter hole to a controlled escape (3) and to a constant escape (4). This is connected via a channel (5) to a constant pressure source of fluid (6). From this channel a jet of gas is directed onto the blades of a turbine (14). A cam (13) on the turbine acts on a shaft (11) so that a point (10) blocks the controlled escape (3). A recorder attached to the catheter allows the catheter to be checked while subjected to variable pressures as the turbine slows down.
