The tennis racquet (1) has a forked handle (2) with a bridge (7) joining its two arms (3,4). The curve of the bridge (R) is equal to that of the opposite part of the frame (8) and is in the same direction, so that all the longitudinal strings (5) held between these parts are of equal length. The length of the bridge (1) is at least equal to 40 per cent of the maximum interior width of the frame (L) and is preferably equal to about 45 percent.
