Heat exchanger using burner fed with liq. fuel - where hot burner gases travel up vertical tubes located in ring chamber to heat fluid flowing through chamber
A vessel has a double outer wall forming a ring chamber through which a medium (I), e.g. cold air, can be fed for heating; and a circular row of vertical tubes (12) is located in the ring chamber; hot gases flow up the tubes to heat the air (I) flowing along the outside of the tubes (12). The vessel is assembled from segments of a circle, and contains conventional devices for feeding hot gases into the ring chamber. The roof of the vessel is fitted with one or more burners from which hot gases travel downwards and then up the tubes (12) in the ring chamber. Used in the chemical, petroleum or petrochemical industry, where liq. fuels are used as the heat source.
