In the pressure modulating valve a valve seat firmly mounted in the valve housing forms an inner seat of a piston coaxial to its outer seat. Together with a valve element these seats form a double action valve. The piston has two cam paths against which is pressed a leaf spring by a set screw. The spring ends can be axially shifted in two slots of a rotary set ring. The ring permits rotation in both directions according to which the control pressure in a variable pressure chamber is changed. The outer valve seat penetrates in an overpressure chamber while the moving valve seat is indirectly affected by the leaf spring. The set crew may be axially mounted in the ring and may press against the middle section of the leaf spring. The valve is protected from the atmosphere and from the overpressure source by a filter respectively. These filters may be mounted in the connecting bore of the over-pressure chamber and in the piston.
