The object of the invention is an adsorbent comprising a crystalline aluminum oxide suitable for use in a process for separating a component of a charge mixture comprising an aqueous solution of a mixture of components by contact with SAME SOLUTION WITH THIS ADSORBENT, THE SILICON CONSTITUENT OF THE ADSORBENT HAVING TREND TO DISSOLVE IN THE SOLUTION BY ENTRAINING AN UNESIRABLE DISAGGREGATION OF ALUMINOSILICATE CRYSTALLINE, THE ADSORBENT BEING CHARACTERIZED IN THAT IT CONTAINS A BINDER COMPRISING A PERMEABLE ORGANIC POLYMER WITH WATER, THE INCORPORATION OF THE BINDER REDUCING SUBSTANTIALLY THE DEGREE OF DISSOLUTION OF THE SILICON CONSTITUENT AND THE DEGREES OF DISAGGREGATION OF THE ADSORBENT. / P
