Heat exchanger with scraped surfaces for fluids - has rotor with blades and stator of rings and collars

Stator encloses a rotor and has a number of annular projections which extend inwards towards the axis of rotation, in a heat exchanger with scraped surfaces for the treatment of a fluid. The projections divide the space inside the stator into a number of annular chambers connected to each other at places lying radially relatively to the tops of the projections. The rotor carries scrapers, each of which has at least one blade in each annular chamber between two adjacent projections and scrapes the whole of the flanks of these. Material is thus removed as the rotor turns and is mixed with the rest. Pref. the scraper blade scrapes the whole of the surface of the two flanks as well as the troughs and crests of the projections. Used to provide a heat exchanger with scraped surfaces having one or more of six features in combination. The exchanger may be used for two fluids one of which is inside the projections. These may be interconnected so that the fluid circulates through them.
