Total energy of the combustion reaction of a liq. or gaseous fuel is increased by adding a peroxidised combination to a fuel mixt. producing thus free radicals which control the rupture of the chemical bonds of the molecules of the fuels partic. by addn. of free nascent oxygenated radicals. Method pref. includes also the addn. of a surfactant and a corrosion inhibitor to the fuel mixt. A plant incorporates blowing filtered air through the medium of measuring pumps through a vessel contg. a peroxidised liq., then through a second vessel contg. a combination of inhibitor and surfactant. Process increases the total energy produced by plants which burn gaseous or liq. fuels partic. fossil fuels. The energy transformation is more complete, partic, by modification of the physico-chemical conditions of the combustion reaction. Corrosion of boilers is reduced.
