Silo for storing heads of maize - has outer mesh sides and inner mesh chimney with extractor fan to induce air flow through maize

The silo comprises an inner structure (5) of vertical tubes (6), inclined into the centre to form a tapered chimney. This has an extractor fan (4) over the top and is covered with mesh (8) at the bottom and with perforated sheets at the top. The outer sides (1) also comprise vertical tubes (13), these being fully covered with mesh (15) and the annular space between covered with a weatherproof tarpaulin (18). The heads of maize (2) are stored in this annular space and the extractor fan induces a controlled air flow through the stored maize and up the central chimney.
