Extrusion press for aluminium billets - where several tubes or other hollow profiles can be extruded simultaneously by mounting several mandrels on extruder ram

Front end of the press ram is fitted with several mandrels, each of which will form the bore of the extruded tubes. After retraction of the press ram, a billet is placed in the extruder barrel; and the billet already contains the same number of holes as the mandrels. When the ram is driven forward, the mandrels pass through the holes in the billet to form a core in each extrusion die so that, e.g. four tubes can be extruded simultaneously.
