The aerial for a vehicle using VHF radio equipment as well as other wavebands, has a half wavelength rod section connected to the base connection of a field effect transistor. This is followed by a second transistor forming an emitter follower. Connected to its junction with its operating resistance is a choke connected at the other end to the output terminal. In parallel with this choke is a resistance of 150 ohms. The whole is connected to an amplifier having a high impedence input.
