The viewer has a rotary prism receiving light from a source directed through the film and projected onto the viewing screen via a magnification system and a projection mirror (15). The viewing screen has a polarisation filter (16), which returns the random rays received from the mirror (15), together with a convex anti-reflection filter (17), allowing the observer to view a high contrast image with good colour resolutions, whatever the position of the observer relative to the screen and the ambient light level. Pref. the objective (10) is mounted on a cradle (18) for movement to an fro parallel to the optical system by rotation of an eccentric (21), allowing the observer to find the ideal position for the objective (10).
