Composite PVC profiles for assembling insulation panels - to eliminate thermal leaks associated with equivalent metal profiles

Channel profiles for assembling insulation panels of e.g. polyurethane foam as used for lining refrigerated wagons etc. are made as composite profiles of rigid PVC with convergeant lips of flexible PVC to form a push fit seal against the insulation surface. Eliminates thermal bridges associated with conventional supporting channels of metal; also eliminates use of loose ancillary seals. The channels maybe reinforced by internal ribs and/or metal inserts. The outer faces of the channel profiles may be grooved to act as waterstops and/or accommodate fastener heads.
