Immunostimulant compsns. for cancer and infections - contg. dehydro-squalene, emulsifier and Mycobacterium smegmata

Immunostimulant compsns. contg. a water-in-oil emulsion in which perhydrosqualene (I) is the oil, an emulsifier, and mycobacteria of the strain Mycobacterium smegmatis. The mycobacterium is pref. M.smegmatis ATCC 607 which has been killed by heat, 50-500 mg being used per 100 ml. of (I). The emulsifier is pref. mannide monooleate, its concn. in (I) being 10-20%. Compsns. are given parenterally, subcutaneously or topically. The daily dosage is 0.05-1 ml, pref. 0.1-0.5 ml, either alone or with a specific antigen. Used in prevention and treatment of cancer and treatment of infections.
