The system provides movement in horizontal and vertical planes by a motor driven cam assembly. The lamp has a rectangular aluminium casing with the glass sealed in the front. A bulb is located within a reflector and the assembly moves about pivots. A bracket permits mounting of a motor gearbox assembly with an endless screw drive. The output shaft carries a rotatable cam which is pressed by a spring against the large sides of the headlamp casing. The excentricity of the cam provides vertical displacement while ribs acting against a protrusion provide horizontal movement. The ribbed wall is supported by the front face of the rotary cam which is opposed to the motor driven cam assembly. The protrusion is held by the car bodywork or by the headlamp assembly.
