摘要
Wooden structures such as roof trusses are made from planks joined together with metal gusset plates. These gusset plates have pointed projections which are pressed into the planks by a hydraulic jack. A machine for making such trusses has two parallel beams mounted above a guide track with semi-circular ends (13). A bogie which runs on the track carries a hydraulic jack at the end of a rotatable arm. The planks (4) forming the truss are assembled on the parallel beams and the jack is brought to each joint (6) in turn to press the gusset plate into position.
