The automatically-striking fishing float comprises a hollow central column (c), through which a fishing line (e1,e2) locked in place by a quill, passes, together with a semi-immersed bell, and a circular or central float (f). Vents (b1,b2) allow rapid escape of air from the bell, and are shut off by a membrane (g) attached either to the central column or to the walls of the bell when the fish pulls on the hook. This causes a spring mechanism to be released by a pin, exerting a strong pull on the line.
