The end of the sheet is shaped so it is in contact with the tube at several points, and the joint area between the sheet and the tube is doubled. The result is that the force required to fracture the weld or soldered joint exceeds the mechanical strength of the sheet. The end of the sheet is pref. bent to form a "v" profile forming several points of contact with the tube and two or more wleded or soldered zones. The invention can be used to make levers or other components employed in motor vehicles, ships or aircraft, where the joint between a tube and a sheet must possess very high strength.
