The process is used for positioning and gluing into place folded end papers for a book block, the back of which is cut or milled during processing, and which is trimmed at the edges after binding. The end papers (21) and/or the blocks are glued outside the trimming lines (10.2), and the papers are glued into place before the spine cutting operation outside these lines. After this operation and the binding, they are trimmed off at the holding positions (15).
