The plate is made up of two portions hinged at one side. The front of the plate is fitted with a longitudinal groove in each side. The groove will take the head of the spring loaded bolt and keep it open. Both sides of the plates are locked by a screw pin locked into position by a latch on the outside of the plate. A curved guide on the end of the groove opens bolts as each hank is pushed down between the plates.
