Coder which sets any one of several combinations - using plug fitting in various ways into socket to produce different binary codes

The coder has an input associated with a given binary value, a group of code outputs associated with the places of a binary code, and devices to selectively connect the code outputs to the input or the inputs in one of several selectable code combinations of the binary code. A connector has several equally spaced sockets, of which one or more is connected to the input or inputs and others to the code outputs. A coding plug has several pins fitting into the sockets. The number of pins is less than the number of sockets so that the plug can be inserted in numerous ways. Certain pins in the plug are short circuited.
