The module includes insulating side walls which rest on a frame and support a roof to form a tunnel contg. a double floor. The upper floor is fitted with slides; and the lower floor is fitted with slides. Slides support the upper and lower parts of a conveyor belt carrying glass objects through a kiln made by assembling a row of modules. A row of transverse convection burners is located between floors; and the module contains a false roof moved vertically by jacks on a superstructure. For example, in the annealing of moulded bottles which can vary from 3-25 cm in height. When only short bottles are being annealed, the false roof can be lowered to save fuel.
