Analogue data memory for analogue and alphanumeric display - converts analogue data to digital form and displays on CRT at higher sweep rate for display with alphanumeric data

Low frequency analogue medical measurements are gathered (11) then converted to a digital representation by an analogue to digital converter to be multiplexed (12) with numerical data. The multiplexed data is then passed to a central data display facility (13,14) and stored in memory to be reconverted back to analogue form (A) and repetitively applied to the vertical deflection amplifier of a cathode ray tube at higher sweep rate giving easy viewing. A sequence controller (S) controls the analogue display and alphanumeric display. The alphanumeric characters are formed from a character generator ROM in matrix form giving serial binary bits which control the intensity of the cathode ray tube to form the characters on the screen in sync. with the horizontal sweep and high rate vertical sweep produced by the sequence control when the alphanumeric area of the screen is reached.
