Phenoxy nitriles of formula (I) are new (where n is 1 or 2; R4 and R5 is H, 1-4C alkyl, or phenyl opt. substd. by 1-3 gps. selected from halogen, alkyl and 1-4C haloalkyl, or R4 and R5 together with the C atom to which they are attached form a 5, 6 or 7 membered polymethylene chain; R6 is Cl or CF3 but it is not p-CF3 when R4 and R5 are both H). Used as selective herbicides useful in crops of cereals and certain dicotyledons. This is an addition to FR79,01020.
