Heat recuperator for wood burning fireplace - has horizontal upper finned water tubes and hollow rectangular frame forming secondary circuit

The heat recuperation system for an open fireplace which may use wood as fuel, has a horizontal set of water circulating tubes (3) below the hood. A secondary circuit is formed by a hollow rectangular frame, as viewed from the front. This extends from under the hearth to a point above the level of the tubes. Viewed from the side, this frame has a base (6) under the hearth, connected by uprights to an enlarged top section (10) with a top horizontal member between these two enlarged side portions. The tubes are finned tubes, in two layers, and are secured so that they are easily removed for repair or maintenance. Their supply and return tubes (4) follow the shape of the rectangular frame.
