Permanent magnets of trapezoidal form are mounted round the outer edge of a wheel and round the inner edge of a larger dia. wheel so that the smaller dia. wheel is able to rotate inside the outer wheel. The motive power is provided by the force of attraction or repulsion between the permanent magnets which face each other on the outer and inner rims of the two wheels. Either attractive or repulsive force may be used, with all the magnets being oriented in the same sense to produce the force. The wheels are mounted on bearings and carry a shaft from which motive power may be taken for many applications. The large wheel is provided with 32 magnets, and the smaller wheel includes 16 magnets.
