The structure for applying ceiling paper to a ceiling has a vertical panel having folding sections with a roller at the bottom from which the paper is unwound, and an applicator roller at the top. The applicator roller is carried by a cross frame mounted on a height adjustable vertical arm. This arm travels between the sides of a vertical guide channel attached to the panel. The bottom roller is carried by another cross frame. The structure is attached by a horizontal arm to a pair of steps or working platform, using e.g. butterfly nuts. The paper is automatically unwound due to its contact with the ceiling as the platform with frame attached is advanced. Projecting from a lower point of the frame is a connecting arm with a length adjusting system to tilt the frame about a horizontal axis. The height of the vertical arm is adjusted by a strap extending from it.
