The switching network is for use in e.g. telephone exchanges and uses N operators each connected directly by P bidirectional digital transmission links to p other operators of the network, p being an even integor. The operators are identical and comprise interfaces with the network exterior and are distributed on h generators (G1-h), h being an integer. Each generator comprises (P/2) power K operators numbered 1 to (P/2) power K where h is an integer. An operator of coordinates (i,j) is connected by P/2 links to P/2 operators A(x) of the following generator 1 less than or equal to x less or equal to P/2 and A(x) having coordinates: (i+1) module h, (x+P/2(i-1)) module (P/2) power k. i is the generator between 1 and h and j is the operator range in the generator 1 less than or equal to is less than or equal to (P/2) power K.
