SCALE PREVENTING AGENT FOR WATER SYSTEM OF HIGH PH, HIGH CALCIUM HARDNESS

摘要

PURPOSE:To prevent scale formation in a high pH, high calcium hardness water system effectively by adding a copolymer of a maleic acid and amylene to a water system of =8.5pH and =250ppm of calcium hardness. CONSTITUTION:Maleic acid and amylene providing suitable molar ratio and structural unit are added into a suitable org. solvent, and a polymn. initiator such as peroxide is added to this and heating this, whereby a copolymer is synthesized. This copolymer is added at about 0.1-50ppm to a water system of =8.5pH and =250ppm calcium hardness, whereby the scale formation in the water system is prevented. The maleic acid which is the structural unit of the copolymer may be maleic anhydride. As the amylene, alpha-amylene (1-pentene), beta-amylene (2-pentene), etc. are used. The mol.wts. of said synthesized copolymer are 500-50,000.
