1472241 Water-soluble film-forming polymer blends E I DU PONT DE NEMOURS & CO 2 Jan 1975 [3 Jan 1974 20 Nov 1974] 104/75 Heading C3P A composition for making melt-extrudable cold water soluble films, comprises 5-20 parts by wt. of a polyethylene glycol with a weight average molecular wt. of 325-550 and 100 parts by wt. of a low molecular wt. polyvinyl alcohol which is 85-90% hydrolysed and which has a viscosity of 3-10 centipoises as measured on a 4% aqueous solution at 20‹ C. An optional additional component may comprise up to 2 parts by wt. per 100 parts by wt. of polyvinyl alcohol, of a water-soluble polymer selected from polyethylene oxides and polyethylene glycols having a weight average molecular weight of at least 600, or polypropylene glycols and ethylene oxide/propylene oxide copolymers, each with a weight average molecular weight of at least 400.
