PURPOSE:To allow to perform assembly of the pump body outside of the hull separately from the hull by dividing power transmission mechanism to drive the impeller into driving shaft and transmission shaft and connecting them with a spline. CONSTITUTION:The driving shaft 13 is directly connected to the prime mover and installed so that it penetrates the bulkhead of the hull and projects into a recessed portion 3 at the rear bottom of the ship. An assembled pump body is inserted in the bottom recessed portion 3 from the rear side, making the spline hole 30 of the transmission shaft 21 to fit with the spline shaft portion 32 of the driving shaft 13, and under this combined condition the pump body is fixed to the hull through the leg 16. By this combination, the power is transferred to the slant flow impeller 26 through driving shaft 13, and transmission shaft 21. Incidentally, centering of the transmission shaft 21 and driving shaft 13 can not necessarily be accurate, however, deflection of the long driving shaft 13 and/or clearances of the spline hole 30 serve to absorb the discrepancy.
