CONTINUOUS UPRIGHT TYPE ANNEALING FURNACES IN PLURAL ROWS

PURPOSE:To contrive saving of thermal energy and simplification of operation by arranging the plural rows annealing furnaces in series and making the length of the middle partition wall of the later stage furnace shorter than the middle partition wall of the foregoing furnace. CONSTITUTION:Said annealing furnaces have a serial arrangement of the plural upright furnaces provided on the furnace top with the furnace lid 2 attaching the middle partition wall 3 hanging in the furnace. The shape of said middle partition wall 3 is made shorter at the later stage furnace than in the foregoing furnace. The middle partition wall of the foregoing furnace A maintains the temperature difference between right and left sections and prevents the thermal equalization and makes heating of the strip 4 efficient. Also the middle partition walls 3', 3'' unnecessary for the thermal equalization are shortened. Thermal energy is utilized effectively, the installation and maintenance cost is reduced due to the above mentioned furnaces.
